Craft Kendama - The Cascade Shape
Craft Concepts. Chapter 2.
The Craft Cascade Kendama features a unique shape that gives players who love juggles an unmistakable feel when throwing and catching the ken. The crisp inner edges on the cups are similar to what you’d find on a Jet Ken, while rounding out the cup rims to help with stalls. We've paired this with a 63mm tama and strung it with an icy blue string and bearing. A beveled base cup hole helps with weight distribution, and we’ve added burn lines on the ken and tama for increased tracking.Â
The Cascade shape was designed by Lisa Komatsubara. Lisa has an extensive background in juggling, and took inspiration from the shape and feel of a juggling club. She spent a considerable amount of time working with artisans in our Craft Shop experimenting with her design concepts. The finished shape is a tall Ken with a distinct slip stop and thick base cup ring.Â
